45 Days

The New Year was just 45 days ago and I wanted to give you an update on how I’ve been doing on my resolutions. My first one was to drink more water instead of soda or tea. I’m happy to say I’ve not had any tea or soda since December 31st. I’m pretty proud of myself for this, especially with Cyndi joking that she couldn’t support that lifestyle. :)

Secondly, was my promise to blog more. I was off to a pretty good start, but have fallen behind from work and a couple of projects I’ve taken on recently. I have quite a few things to share with you, so keep an eye out for new updates.

Finally, I said I wanted to read more books. I haven’t gotten as far as I would like, but am halfway through three different books (I get bored with one and then begin another one, and keep bouncing back and forth). Kind of pathetic only reading 1.5 books in 45 days, huh? :)

Snow Storm

Yesterday during the big snow storm, I walked around our neighborhood to get a few photos while the snow was coming down pretty hard. I went out earlier tonight and got some shots of the sun shining off of the trees.

Meaghan & Andrew | Arkansas Wedding Photography

Cyndi and I were so excited about Meaghan and Andrew’s wedding since we had so much fun with them during their engagement session. They were married at Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs with the reception following at the Basin Park Hotel. It was a beautiful setting for such a beautiful couple! Neither Meaghan nor Andrew are from the area, and they had family and friends coming in from all over the place, so they had a few treats for their guests during the reception which included real moonshine!

I was so excited when I heard that Christi & Mitchell’s wedding was going to be featured in the January issue of CitiScapes Magazine, because their wedding was so much fun and they are the nicest people! They truly had one of our favorite weddings of 2009. If you’re getting married, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy! You’ll find Christi & Mitchell on page 65 and some wedding ideas and tips in their 2010 NWA wedding guide. Here’s the page in CitiScapes along with our favorites from their wedding…

New Year’s Resolutions

I’m not really one who usually takes on New Year’s resolutions, but in order to better the business and myself, I’ve taken on a number of them this year and thought I’d share some of them with you.

1. Drink water. I am a big tea drinker. I love the Red Diamond sweet tea with Splenda you can get at Walmart. I like cokes too, but not like the tea. My first resolution is to cut out cokes and tea all-together and drink water. There are exceptions, like I can still drink Propel Vitamin Water, but less sugar and no caffeine is the goal.

2. Blog. I’m not guaranteeing I’ll blog everyday like my friend and great photographer Dale Benfield did in 2009, but I found myself slacking last year with keeping up with the blog. My goal is to blog more and share more personal stuff including thoughts, personal photos and crazy, random things with you.

3. Read. I’ll be the first to admit I’m not someone who reads books for fun. I normally read photography forums online and news. Since the Kindle app for the iPhone came out, I bought some books for it with every intention to read them, but just never got around to it. This year will be different. I’m currently reading Tribes by Seth Godin (thanks DB) and have several others ready to go including How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie (thanks Becker), Fast Track Photographer by Dane Sanders and Book Yourself Solid by Michael Port. Cyndi told me I need to read some fiction books, though, so I’m on the hunt for some good fiction. Any suggestions?

New Addition | Arkansas Family Portraits

We were so happy to have a new addition to our family! After months of anticipation and waiting, we finally were able to welcome our new nephew, Layton Nathaniel, into our world (crazy as it may be sometimes)! We were sure to get him used to the camera as soon as possible! We had a quick family shoot for Christmas cards and then photographed Layton some. I love the shot where he looks like Dr. Evil! We also have some shots of Ava taken on Thanksgiving…
